Elijah taken to heaven in fiery chariot

God moves in mysterious ways. We can’t know all the ways of God. We don’t know where He came from, and this is something, where in a world where we want answers for everything, we just have to accept. (Something I’ve been thinking about lately.)

Imagine the conversation that Elijah and Elisha had just before Elijah as taken. I’m sure most of it was full of questions. “Do you think this will really happen?” “I wonder when?” “I wonder how?” “What will heaven be like?”

To foster questions, even without answers is healthy for children. To let them know that the unknown is okay when God is in control. Perhaps this week, say a prayer like, “Even though we don’t know what will happen regarding X, we will trust in you!” (And, not in a morbid kind of way, but with cheerfulness, that God is so good, He CAN be trusted with our unknowns!)
