For our Sabbath school class this week we’re learning about when Moses received the 10 commandments from God. I thought hard about this craft and how I could make it meaningful for the children. When I thought about what it means to follow the 10 commandments, the New Testament scripture where Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matt 22:37-39)
Jesus’ summary of the law I felt was something the children could relate to and remember, rather than going through the 10 laws (which they still are in the lesson!).
This craft is a paper spinner where the law of God will show inside the heart when spun on some twine.
